tickle my clix

Saturday May 12, 2001

My computer is down again. Words can't describe how pissed I am because even reloading it hasn't helped. I absolutely hate my husband's computer because it is prone to freezing. I get so frustrated when I lose everything. I crashed the computer because I tried to put the scanner software online yesterday. If only I had known.

Mikey and I got into a fight this morning. Over the computer as always. I really don't know what to do with myself when I'm not online. I had downloaded this really cool html editor that I was playing with. I lost that in the reload, I'm willing to bet. Gaagh. Stupid technology.

I found some pictures of Kelly and Jimmy's wedding. If I ever get everything to work, I think that I've found the pic I'm going to use for the cast list page. It's really very nice. I found a pic of Amy and Pam too and of course with the exection of Bich, that is everyone on my list.

Speaking of Pam, she has found a new man. His name is Geoff and he's from Georgia. She's planning to visit him in June. Now this is where my personal opinion comes in so feel free to skip the next paragraph or so. My view on meeting someone online is that it's a really dangerous and crazy thing to do. I mean a lot of people are really great, but how do you weed them out fromt the psychos? How do you know who's for real and who's just pretending to be something they aren't? I've heard lots of stories of people who met online and fell in love and are living happily ever after, but I've never met anyone like that.

I'm not saying that you can't find love online. I'm just really skeptical of it. It's definately a case of "if they want me, what's wrong with them?" except in this situation it's more, if they are online and single, what's wrong with them. Sometimes I find myself wanting to reassure the person I'm talking to by saying something like, "no, really, I'm a nice looking girl". But it's not even looks that bother me. It's the fact that there might be something wrong with their personalities that makes them have to find a person that doesn't know them.

There is a notable exception to all that though. People who don't try to hook up with you the first time you meet. Let's take my friend Bich for example. He's never tried to be romantic with me. From the beginning it was a friedly thing and that's never changed. If I were single though and over the course of time the friendship evolved into a romance, I'd consider meeting him. I guess my whole point is that the same rules apply for meeting online as at a bar. You have to know the person and "date" the person for a considerable length of time before you would consider moving in together or getting married. Being spontaneous may make a great story for the kids, but only if you live long enough to have kids. Let common sense be your guide.

Ok, enough preaching now. I'm probably not the person that should be talking about relationships anyway. Lord knows, mine always end up going bad in record time. I'm a bitch though, so it isn't that simple to rectify what's wrong. To anyone out there interested in persuing an online affair: you have my blessings. Go for it and best of luck to you.

On a lighter note, Dare and Elijah have both learned cute new tricks. Dare has started sucking his toes. I have a picture of that to add when I get my computer up again. Elijah dances to that Britney Spears commercial on tv. It's pretty funny to watch, although I do wish that he had found a more manly role model. By which I don't include Michael Jackson. Elijah also tried to shave his legs yesterday, which makes me think that he is spending too much time watching me. I'd be flattered if he were a girl, but since he's not, I worry that I'm warping him.

My downstairs neighbor creeps me out. I've never seen him until yesterday and since then I've seen him twice. Both times he just looked at me. I mean it's possible that he thought I was cute, but I can't think of when I've ever had anyone just openly stare at me like that. I've seen a few too many made for tv movies to be comfortable with that.

Jimmy has a story online right now. It's shaping up to be a horror story. If you care to read it you can find it here. Kelly also has a story online and when I get the url again, I'll post a link. I believe this will be all for today becuase I've already frozen twice.
