tickle my clix

Tuesday May 29, 2001

I've had a really busy day. I took Dare to the doctor's today. I'm only like a month and a half behind, but if I can remember to go back in 6 weeks, I'll be back on track.

Dare is double his birth weight. He's 16 lbs and some change and 26 3/4 inches. I wasn't surprised to find out. He looks huge and feels even bigger. I told the doc that he doesn't eat anything other than breast milk. He said that was perfectly alright, that other cultures don't start their kids on solids until they have teeth and since Dare is gaining weight it's all cool. He said that Dare has just found something he likes and chances are good that he doesn't feel like the other foods are worth the extra effort.

Elijah was really excited to go to the doctor's office. I didn't realize that he thought that he was going. He wanted to be weighed and have the doc look in his ears with the light thingy. In fact the only thing he didn't want was the shots. It wore me out repeatedly telling him to be quiet so I could talk with the doctor. I'm glad I don't have to go back for another month and a half.

I have drill this weekend and annual training for the 2 weeks after that. Bleh. I'm dreading it. 2 weeks of pointless office work or even worse, 2 weeks spent in the supply office. I'll probably have to lift a ton of shit and carry it to another cage for a reason that makes no sense to me. Or doing it because they have me captive and want to use me.

The dollhouse is coming along really well. Elijah is thrilled with all the stuff I make for it. I made the pond that we collected the rocks for. I made a couple of egg carton chairs, but I left one white and Elijah decided it was a potty. Since I would hate for the pigs to have a imaginary accident on the floor, a potty it is. I made a stove from a candle box, but I didn't check it for scale. I spent forever on it and thought it looked really nice, but it turns out that the stove is a story tall. I could easily bake one of the pigs in it. All there is to do is make a bigger house next time.

I'm getting hits from a couple of new places. One is from my friend Malicent's diary. The other isn't an actual link (I don't think), it's the stop before mine on my webring. Just thought I'd share that little bit of information with the general public. I'm pretty thrilled by it. It makes me happy.
