Ok, it's official. Pam's pic is down from the ranking site. I'm going to delete her stat tracker page since it no longer serves a purpose. It's too bad because I really dug the tracker thingy. Amy thinks that they didn't want it because the quality was so poor.
I started a project yesterday with Elijah. When I was little, my grandma made me a dollhouse out of a cardboard box. What really sticks in my mind is the fact that she cut out a window and glued a seasoning packet with a snowy scene behind it so it looked as though the window looked outside. I became inspired and started picking through the closets until I found a collection of random objects to use. I found a diaper box and painted it and saved the flaps to make a 2nd story and room dividers. That was only the beginning.
I was originally planning to just make it 2D with furniture cut out from magazines and glued to the walls, but then I started searching around the internet and found all these tips for do it yourself minitures. I ended up making some simple furnishings and a few other easy things, like wall papering a room with Christmas wrap and making lamps out of beads. I took some pictures of what I've got so far and I put them and descriptions of how I made stuff on my dollhouse page.
I turned Elijah loose on the dollhouse with some little plaster pigs I found (much better than my original idea of backing cut outs on cardboard and makeing little paper people to play with) and the first thing he did was start playing on the "roof" of the house. He also took out all the furnishings and lined them up. Then he lost intrest and he's watching some war movie starring Chuck Norris with Mikey. Glad I didn't waste my time or anything. I guess that that's what kids do. He couldn't get enough of it when I was trying to build it though. Anything to piss me off.
It was pouring rain when I woke up this morning. I love that kind of weather as long as I don't have to go out into it. Mikey didn't even have to work this morning so it was extra nice. Heavy rain makes me feel content. I don't know why that is, but it's such a good feeling. I also love to walk around in the rain in an umbrella or raincoat because I feel as if I'm in a secret place that no one else has. Since it's not raining right now, I think I'm going to take Elijah out to hunt for rocks to make a "pond" for our house.
